Remembering our first Helpline nurses

Impact

03 Sep 2020

We introduced our specialist nurse Helpline in 1992, to give much-needed support for people affected by osteoporosis with nobody else to turn to.

At first, the Helpline was just two part-time nurses, Vicky and Kathy. They answered all enquiries, mostly by post, writing personal responses to individual letters. Now, our dedicated team of specialist nurses answer around 13,000 enquiries a year, continuing to provide vital information and support to everyone who contacts us.

We call it a Helpline - but for many, it’s a lifeline.

Find out how you can help us continue being here for those affected by osteoporosis.
