We’ve cancelled our upcoming public events

Head office

17 Mar 2020

We have cancelled all our public events between now and Tuesday 30 June inclusive, to protect the health of our valued staff, volunteers and beneficiaries during the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The decision affects all local events and face-to-face support group activities.

At the time of writing, the UK Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk to the public to high, and the government has issued advice about how to avoid catching and spreading coronavirus (social distancing).

Francesca Thompson, our Director of Clinical Practice and Operations, says:

“Protecting our communities, particularly the older and more vulnerable members of society, and our NHS is our top priority during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

“We have therefore decided to cancel all our public events, up to the end of June.

“We are continuing to closely monitor the situation and where possible, aim to reschedule our events for later in the year.

“Please be assured that we are continuing to provide support and the latest information to people affected by osteoporosis.”
