The Royal Osteoporosis Society is delighted to be named as national law firm Slater and Gordon’s newest Charity of the Year. This powerful partnership aims to drive greater awareness and support for the millions of people affected by the bone health condition.

The initiative launched at the start of this year, builds on the success of the firm’s previous Charity of the Year partnership with The Wheelchair Football Association. This year’s call for entries received an impressive response, with over 600 charities from across the UK submitting applications.

After a rigorous judging process, ten finalists were shortlisted and submitted to a public vote to determine Slater and Gordon’s next Charity of the Year partner.

The Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) received outstanding voting support from the public and was ultimately selected as the law firm’s newest Charity of the Year.

The charity will be awarded with a significant financial donation as well as a dedicated 12-month partnership support including fundraising, sponsorship opportunities, increased outreach exposure and strategic collaboration.

Currently, more than 3.5 million people in the UK are living with osteoporosis. Established in 1986, the Royal Osteoporosis Society is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to improving bone health, by raising awareness of osteoporosis and advocating for earlier diagnosis and better treatment options.

“We are delighted to partner with Slater and Gordon as their Charity of the Year” says Craig Jones, Chief Executive at the Royal Osteoporosis Society.

“This partnership has the potential to be truly transformational for our work. Together, we can reach more people at risk of osteoporosis, expand our awareness efforts, and help prevent life-changing fractures. We were also thrilled to see how strongly our networks and colleagues rallied behind us during the public vote, and we are incredibly grateful for their support in helping us secure this partnership.”

Janine Ferrie, Chief Marketing Officer at Slater and Gordon adds “A huge congratulations to our new Charity of the Year! This partnership with the Royal Osteoporosis Society marks a truly significant moment, bringing together two organisations committed to making a real difference to the lives of people we work with.

“Over the next 12 months, we have strong ambitions to work closely with the ROS to further raise awareness, strengthen support and help improve outcomes for many. I’m confident that we will accomplish meaningful progress together. The ROS should be immensely proud of this achievement, the level of support received clearly demonstrates the impact they are making.”

Michael Dunleavy, Slater and Gordon’s Head of Business Development also adds, “This is truly an exciting moment to join forces; to make a meaningful difference for those with osteoporosis and advocating for better awareness of bone health. We are truly looking forward to collaborating with the ROS, and I’m confident we will achieve great things together. “
