Live event about the benefits of ballet for bones

Head office | Osteoporosis Management

29 Apr 2021

Today is International Dance Day, and to mark the occasion, Sarah Leyland, Clinical Advisor at the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) will be live on Instagram at 2pm talking to Gerard Charles, Artistic Director at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), about the benefits of dancing for bone health.

The RAD runs a popular ballet class called Silver Swans, which is designed for older learners and takes into account all levels of fitness and ability. This means anyone can join in.

These classes help improve mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels. Most importantly, they are an opportunity to have fun and enjoy the sense of wellbeing that dance brings.

Join us on Instagram today, Thursday 29 April, at 2pm to hear more about dancing and bone health. Head to the ROS Instagram page (@RoyalOsteoSoc) and click the ROS logo in the top left corner to listen in.
