Become ‘mighty’ by taking part in our walking challenge this September

We’ve recently launched a brand-new fundraising event, ‘My Mighty Miles’, encouraging people to get active this September while raising funds to make a life-changing difference to people affected by osteoporosis.

There are four distances to choose from, ranging from one Mighty Mile to a Mighty Marathon of 26.2 miles, making the event accessible for a range of abilities. Participants can choose to walk, swim, cycle, run, skip, wheel, or any other method to cover the distance, and can either take part as an individual or recruit a team to complete the challenge together.

Some of those already signed up are planning to complete their walks in places ranging from local parks and canal towpaths to coastal paths and the Scottish Highlands – with some participants even set to take part in the South of France.

Every participant will receive a welcome pack and team ROS t-shirt, along with an exclusive ROS medal if over £100 is raised in sponsorship.

Karlie Evans, Fundraising Events Manager at the Royal Osteoporosis Society, said:

“Whether you’re living with osteoporosis yourself and want to celebrate everything that you can still achieve, or you know someone with the condition and want to show your support, this event is a wonderful way to connect with others across the nation walking for a unified cause.

“Money raised will help to fund our free osteoporosis Helpline and vital research into new treatments. As a charity, we can’t do what we do without the support of amazing fundraisers, and every penny raised really does make a huge difference.”
