Response to HRT announcement from Government following Private Members Bill reading

“We welcome the news that prescription charges for HRT will be significantly reduced and that a cross-government Menopause Taskforce will be set up to support women. Congratulations to Carolyn Harris MP and the ‘menopause warriors’ on this win.

"Osteoporosis and the menopause are closely related.  Both need urgent attention to make sure women get the support they need, and that healthcare inequalities are tackled.  We’re looking forward to meeting officials leading the Women’s Health Strategy to ask that osteoporosis is put at the centre of the plan. And we’ll look forwards to discussing osteoporosis with members of the cross-government Menopause Taskforce as soon as it is established.”
