New osteoporosis video series launches

We regularly hear from our members, volunteers and those who call our Helpline that they want more information about bone health and osteoporosis, which is why we have created a series of four new videos to answer common questions. We appreciate the importance of good bone health for everybody and want those living with osteoporosis to live well.

The videos have been created for anyone who has recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis, but are relevant to everyone – whether you’ve been living with osteoporosis for some time, know someone with the condition, or are interested in your bone health.

“Getting that diagnosis of osteoporosis is a complete shock,” says Kay, who has the condition and volunteers for the ROS. “I found that I didn’t really take things in properly at the time. That’s why these videos are a great resource to turn to. They help answer all the questions I didn’t ask when I was first diagnosed.”

Developed by people living with osteoporosis and bone health specialists, the new videos include:

  • What is osteoporosis?
  • How is osteoporosis diagnosed?
  • How is osteoporosis treated?
  • How can I keep my bones healthy?

The videos cover a wide range of information, such as the causes of osteoporosis, DXA scans, types of medications, diet, vitamin D, calcium and exercise.

We know these videos will help thousands of people to better understand osteoporosis and what it means for them. Watch the new videos at theros.org.uk/newly-diagnosed
