Strictly Come Dancing judge and Royal Osteoporosis Society Ambassador, Craig Revel Horwood, won almost £40,000 on BBC One’s ‘The Wall’ when he teamed up with Strictly 2018 winner Stacey Dooley. The two former adversaries put their differences aside for a Christmas Celebrity Special of the popular gameshow broadcast on Christmas Eve. Together they faced challenging questions from host and EastEnder’s star, Danny Dyer, and quiz master Angela Rippon.

It was a nail-biting episode over three rounds, with the pair’s rivalry coming to the surface and quips from Stacey referencing Craig’s failure to award her a single ‘10’ when she won Strictly. Nevertheless, they managed to stay friends and proved a winning team, with Craig answering questions in the isolation zone while Stacey doubled and trebled their total managing the ball-dropping part of the game. Craig even ripped up a contract which would have seen him take a lower total himself - instead allowing them to continue and share the final total of £78,732 for their two chosen charities.

Our CEO Craig Jones said: “What an amazing Christmas gift from our outstanding Ambassador Craig Revel Horwood. This was an exciting celebrity version of The Wall where Craig battled with Stacey, but we were all winners when they reached their impressive total. This gift and the opportunity to see osteoporosis featured on prime-time Christmas TV helps us immensely in our mission to improve the bone health of the nation. Thank you to our fantastic Ambassador, Craig.”

Craig Revel Horwood said: “It was enjoyable working with Stacey again – we have had an interesting relationship to date but we managed to pull it out of the bag on this occasion for our chosen charities. I was delighted to be representing the Royal Osteoporosis Society, who are the UK’s only charity dedicated to finding a cure for osteoporosis and improving the lives of everyone affected by it.”

Thank you Craig. We look forward to working more with you in the coming year!
