We’re so close – but we need your help

You’ve been with us through the highs and lows of this campaign for universal access to early diagnosis services for osteoporosis – known as Fracture Liaison Services (FLS). Your support has made all the difference. Thanks to your action, your pressure, and your perseverance, we secured the biggest victory in memory for people with osteoporosis last year: a clear commitment from the government to end the postcode lottery for FLS.

When the roll-out committed to by Ministers is complete, we’ll prevent 74,000 fractures, including 31,000 life-threatening hip fractures. This will save 8,000 lives. It will completely change the state of services in the NHS for people with osteoporosis and end the misery of late diagnosis and preventable fractures.

Will you write to your MP and ask them to urge the government to publish the delivery plan for FLS? We know the proposal for how to deliver FLS is sitting on the Health Secretary’s desk – and if your MP writes to him, and other members do the same, we can persuade him to approve the roll-out plan and the work of changing and saving lives can finally begin.
