Three new videos are now available to help support people diagnosed with spinal fractures.

When people are diagnosed with spinal fractures, they typically have many questions about what the diagnosis means for them. It can be challenging for health professionals to answer all of these questions in a short medical appointment or patients might not think of them until afterwards. That’s why the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) has created a series of new videos to help answer some of the common questions.

If your patient has recently been diagnosed with spinal fractures, these videos are a helpful resource.

Developed by people who are living with osteoporosis and spinal fractures, and bone health experts, the new videos include:

Understanding your spinal fracture

  • What is a spinal fracture?
  • Signs and symptoms of spinal fractures
  • How do spinal fractures heal?
  • What to do when your spine is healing
  • Ongoing problems and risk of further spinal fractures
  • How to get further information and support

Living with spinal fractures

  • Your thoughts and feelings
  • Living with pain
  • How to get further information and support

Taking care of your body

  • Exercise
  • Posture and balance
  • How to get further information and support

The videos aim to empower people to understand and manage their spinal fractures, and ultimately to live well with them. Please share the videos with your patients using the link: https://theros.org.uk/information-and-support/osteoporosis/spinal-fractures/spinal-fracture-videos/.

The new videos lead on from our popular series of videos for people newly diagnosed with osteoporosis.

These videos are supported by the Garfield Weston Foundation.
