Five ways you can help us work towards a cure in 2021
16 Feb 2021
In the grey days of February and at a time when we’re all restricted in what we can do, here are five easy ways to support us in 2021 - a year which we hope will get brighter as each day goes by.
There are more than 3.5 million people living with osteoporosis in the UK, and with one in two women and one in five men suffering a fracture because of osteoporosis in their lifetime, we are on a vital journey towards a cure. With your support, together we can build a future without osteoporosis.
1. Join us
You can make a difference today by becoming a member. When you join us, you’ll be helping us to build real momentum to make change for the future. You’ll join a passionate community and receive all the latest information to help keep your and your family's bones healthy and strong.
Find out more by calling 01761 473287 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
2. Take on a 206 challenge
Did you know that there are 206 bones in your body? Take on a challenge involving the number 206 and we'll provide the motivation and help you need to achieve your feat, including sponsor sheets and handy how-to guides.
Maybe it’s walking 2.06 miles a day, reading 206 books this year, building up to a 20.6km run, or even dancing along to 206 minutes of TikTok videos - whatever it is, we’ve got everything you need to make your challenge a success!
Get started by contacting our friendly fundraising team - email@example.com.
3. Shop for us, for free
Support As You Shop is a simple way to help us without costing you a penny. All you need to do is choose Royal Osteoporosis Society as your nominated charity every time you buy something online through Amazon Smile and we’ll receive 0.5% of the purchase price. Happy shopping!
4. Celebrate a special occasion
Whether you’re celebrating a big birthday or an anniversary, you can dedicate your celebration to helping people with osteoporosis today and into the future.
Instead of gifts, you can ask family and friends to make a donation to the Royal Osteoporosis Society to help us improve the lives of everyone affected by osteoporosis.
Donations can be made online or by calling 01761 473287.
5. Consider leaving a gift in your Will
Many of us will have been thinking about those we love more than ever in the last year and how we can help others. Why not start the year by making or updating your Will?
As well as making sure your loved ones are taken care of, many people also decide to leave a gift to charity so that support for the causes they care about lives on as a legacy.
However you decide to help this year, thank you. Please stay in touch on social media or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
