Take part in the Captain Tom 100 challenge

Fundraising

14 Apr 2021

Celebrate the amazing achievements of Captain Tom and fundraise for the Royal Osteoporosis Society this May bank holiday weekend!

To celebrate Captain Tom Moore’s amazing achievements and mark what would have been his 101st birthday, everyone’s invited to take part in a fundraising challenge between Friday 30 April and Monday 3 May.

You can choose any activity that involves the number 100 – from walking 100 metres to baking 100 cakes, or swimming 100 lengths to singing for 100 minutes.

Help us work towards a future without osteoporosis.

About the challenge

In April last year, Captain Tom Moore set out round his garden to thank our NHS heroes. One hundred laps later, he’d raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal. His simple message of hope – ‘Tomorrow will be a good day’ – inspired millions around the world and brought comfort and joy to so many during the pandemic.

Following the outpouring of heartfelt messages since his death in February, his family pledged to celebrate his life with an event that everyone could get involved in. To celebrate Captain Tom’s generosity of spirit and his sense of fun, they created the Captain Tom 100 event.

For all charities, the past year has been a challenge, but we are proud that we have been able to support people living with osteoporosis throughout the pandemic because of the amazing help we received from supporters like you. One of our objectives for this year is for our support services to provide advice to people 300,000 times because it’s vital that we can be there for everyone with the condition.
