You may be aware of the reported issues with the supply of alendronic acid 70mg tablets, which could continue into September 2022. Here are some tips to help manage any potential impact on patients:

1) Speak to your pharmacy team who may be able to work with wholesalers to source an alternative supply
2) Consider temporarily prescribing an alternative form e.g., effervescent tablets or an oral solution
3) Consider whether a break from treatment is appropriate for patients who’ve been on treatment for five or more years
