Our updated patient information resources

We've updated our suite of introductory patient information resources to meet your patients' needs at different stages of their bone health journey.

You can now download and print the new resources for easy distribution in hospitals and other healthcare settings. Your patients will also be able to order copies directly from us very soon.

1. Better bone health for everybody

Includes information about calcium and vitamin D

Who it's for: This information is useful for all patients, as it's aimed at anyone wanting to find out more about positive lifestyle changes to improve bone health.

What it replaces: This replaces our current Healthy living for strong bones leaflet.

2. Getting your bones checked to keep them healthy

Includes information about risk factors for osteoporosis and broken bones.

Who it's for: This information is for patients who are at risk of osteoporosis and need information about bone health assessment and osteoporosis. It is a useful resource to send out with invitations to osteoporosis clinic and bone density scan appointments, or for patients with risk factors for osteoporosis.

What it replaces: This replaces our current Scans and tests, Am I at risk?, and Have you broken a bone? leaflets. 

3. About osteoporosis and weaker bones

Includes information about drug treatments for osteoporosis.

Who it's for: This is for patients who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or a high risk of fracture.

What it replaces: This replaces our current An introduction to osteoporosis and Drug treatments for osteoporosis leaflets.

4. Help for pain and other symptoms caused by spinal fractures

Who it's for: This is aimed at patients who are struggling with pain and symptoms because of spinal fractures due to osteoporosis.

What it replaces: This replaces our current Living with osteoporosis leaflet.

You can still contact general enquiries to order quantities of the following:

  • Helpline cards – signposting to our free specialist Helpline.
  • We’re here to help leaflets – which patients can complete and return to us for a pack containing tailored bone health information. This includes details about our other services, including membership, the Helpline, and other information resources.
