"Through joining the ROS, I discovered a new support family"

We understand that receiving an osteoporosis diagnosis can be scary and confusing. Many people talk about feeling overwhelmed and anxious.

Some avoid exercise, and their regular activities, for fear of breaking a bone, and feel lonely and isolated as a result. Experiences with GPs can be mixed, with short appointments meaning some people leave without feeling fully informed about the next steps.

On top of this uncertainty and fear, they may be dealing with the pain of fractures too.

“I felt like my world had fallen apart when I received the diagnosis,” says ROS member Liz. “But through joining the ROS, I discovered a new support family to take away my fears.”

“They provide fantastic information. Their resources on topics like exercise are the only things that have helped me with managing the condition.” Ann
