Artificial Intelligence (AI)

We are committed to the responsible use of AI technology in our Health Information.

Our expert Health Information Editors develop all our health information. People living with osteoporosis and healthcare professionals also carefully review our information.

Before we publish a resource, it is approved by our Health Information Manager and Head of Information and Support Services.

The team may sometimes use AI-assisted editorial tools. These include:

  • · Hemingway Editor to help simplify language and improve readability

  • · Mendeley Cite to help organise our research references.

We may sometimes use Microsoft Copilot to:

  • find different phrasing for a sentence or title

  • summarise feedback from reviewers

  • search common themes on social media platforms.

We do not upload identifiable data to AI. This includes data such as names and location, and the health data of our community.

When we use AI, a human always carefully checks the output of the AI model.

Staff must use AI in line with the Royal Osteoporosis Society’s Privacy Policy.
