Sutton Area Support Group

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings.

Our group was set up in 2014 with the aim of providing information and support to people with osteoporosis, and generally raising awareness of the condition in the community. Our activities are focussed in the borough of Sutton, although we also publicise our events in Merton, Epsom & Ewell and Kingston, and we encourage and welcome anyone to join our support group or attend our events.

Venue

All meetings are held at:

Trinity Church Hall
Trinity Church
Cheam Road
Sutton
SM1 1DZ

The Church is in the centre of Sutton, opposite the Sutton Central Library and SCOLA.

A £2 entrance donation is requested which includes refreshments. All contributions are used to fund the Support Group for room hire, administration costs, etc.

Transport

Car parking: there are several car parks in Sutton - Gibson Road is the nearest and has blue badge parking on the ground floor.

There are excellent public transport links – Sutton Railway Station is about 5 minutes’ walk away and the following bus routes serve the area: 80 151 164 213 280 407 413 470 613 S1 S3 S4 X26

Volunteering

Our group is run by volunteers and to ensure it continues to thrive, we would welcome some more help. We would like to create a pool of active supporters we could call on depending on the requirements of our programme – either for occasional one-off activities, or more regular help at our events.

A recent meeting

We held a talk on Wednesday 1 of March titled 'Vitamins, Minerals and Healthy Bones'.

Dr. Amelia Moore from Kings College Hospital London gave the talk on 'Vitamins, Minerals and Healthy Bones' which was very well received by the 40 strong audience.

There then followed a Q & A session, which went on for nearly the length of the lecture, such is the interest generated by such a competent and knowledgeable speaker as Dr.Moore.
