Oxford & District
Oxford and District Support Group
An introduction: The Oxford and District Support Group offers people affected with osteoporosis the chance to meet other people in the area and get information for support. We run bi-monthly informal pub lunches where people can chat and share their experiences.
We organise an annual Osteoporosis Information day where we invite local experts to speak and give people an opportunity to ask questions about the condition and treatment. This information day takes place in a different part of the county each year to give as many people as possible a chance to attend.
Information is also available about an exercise class in Oxford we have helped to create, run by a trained physiotherapist and devised specifically to benefit people with osteoporosis.
In order to spread information in our area we set up stalls wherever and whenever councils, supermarkets, festivals etc. accept our request to do so and we also engage in a few fundraising events.
If you wish to volunteer to help us, please contact either Diane Ferraby on
Tel : 01761 473269 or write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Medical Advisor is Dr Kassim Javaid Consultant Rheumatologist.
