206 Challenge Walk

On 26 September volunteers from the Merthyr Tydfil support group set off for their 206 Challenge walk  around the lake in Cyfarthfa Park. Armed with water, energy sweets and their welsh flag they set off around the lake, they were very distinctive in their bright blue and orange t shirts and attracted a lot of attention! Everyone managed a lap of the lake on what was a very cold and Autumnal day which is an incredible achievement.

After they had finished their walk everyone set off to the café in the castle in Cyfarthfa park for very well deserved tea and cake. Again, very distinctive in their t shirts they attracted a lot of attention in the café and the café owner was so impressed with what they had done she has pledged a raffle prize for the group’ meetings. The group had originally intended to see if they could raise £206 to tie in with the 206 challenge but their family and friends were  so impressed with what they were doing that they managed to raise a staggering £700!! Well done to everyone involved!”
